Repubicans are now saying Trump will cost them the Senate

But the reality is they will cost themselves the Senate. But the reality is that if they lose the Senate it will be because they decided to follow him. They could have just treated his election as a way for them to get control of the courts and cut regulation without actually embracing him otherwise.

The decision to act embrace him as their savior was not up to Trump but was rather a decision of the party leadership. Once Trump is gone that decision is going to cost the Repulican party tons of elections going forward for many years to come, it seems to me.

Democrats need to learn how to use a crisis to get things achieved

The current situation presents the best example ever for why folks like warehouse workers, grocery clerk, low level hospital workers and home health workers should get paid way more than they do. Fight for 15 does not begin to describe what needs to me offered as the left wing ask on behalf of these workers.

Instead, we should be suggesting a real living wage that doesn’t require these workers to also need to live on food stamps and federal housing assistance as is currently the case. Access to quality healthcare should also be part of the ask.

Under the current circumstances I think this type of demand might finally be taken seriously by enough people to make it truly achievable. It seems to me that this is the time to take on the Jeff Bezos’s of the world and force them to pay their workers appropriately.
